It’s very easy to spend many hours ‘drilling down’ into the fine detail of a programme and produce a masterpiece that details carefully linked and scheduled tasks. However, I’ve found in my experience that those ‘most welcome’ programmes are those where the planner has always considered the users perspective – and that can vary widely. For example a client may need a programme that demonstrates progress and a rough idea when key milestones are met and delivered. Whereas, a subcontractor may require a lot more detailed logic and precision with keys procurement dates etc. So – you maybe in the middle of linking up the tasks to your masterpiece – always remember who will be using it and what they instantly need to see.
